Groseille

A$60.00
sold out

Marionette Groseille is packed with dense, ripe, redcurrant notes on the nose, without being cordial sweet (more like a berry tart). On the palate it’s silky and fresh, with good concentration. Momentarily juicy and sweet in the middle, while maintaining a nice natural acidity through the finish. This elusive ingredient will let you create Christmas in a glass, at any time of the year.

Tasmanian Redcurrants

Two generations of the Clark family have grown berries in Tassie soil. The chilly winters of the Derwent Valley ensure Richard Clark’s small redcurrant crop is full of goodness by the summer harvest time. It’s with these very Tasmanian berries that Marionette brings back the classic French redcurrant liqueur Groseille.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

There is a long rich history of caring for country, a history that extends far back beyond 1788. To learn more; Farmers or Hunter-gatherers? (2021) by Peter Sutton Keryn Walshe, and Bruce Pascoe’s Dark Emu: Black seeds, agriculture or accident? (2014) are great starting points.

In Victoria, Marionette’s produce is grown on traditional lands of the people of the Yorta Yorta Nation, the Wurundjeri and the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nations, and the Latji Latji, Nyeri Nyeri and Ngintait (Nintay) traditional owners. In Queensland we pay our respect to the Muluridji People in the Mareeba region. We pay respect to the long custodianship of the traditional land owners of Tasmania, and acknowledge the palawa people, today’s Aboriginal community, as the traditional owners of the land. We pay our respects to all First Nation’s elders past and present. We recognise that this land was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land because sovereignty was never ceded.
